Meet The Imogenes Players
We are four seasoned musicians with the versatility to read the room and curate the perfect ambiance for your special event or iconic venue. From jazz standards and soulful classics to the renewed excitement of swing dancing, our music connects with audiences of all ages.
Missy Gibson (Singer)
This soulful singer/songwriter carved a path from her Detroit roots to the national stage with a sound that’s equal parts smoky, sensual, and unforgettable. After signing a deal with legendary producer Quincy Jones’ label, Qwest Records, Missy went on to perform and/or tour alongside artists including Weezer, the late Jeff Buckley, The White Stripes, and Liz Phair.
With a catalog rooted in emotional honesty and timeless style, Missy’s music has been featured in television and film, including Dawson's Creek, Black Sash, Ed McMahon's Next Big Star, and Canada’s MuchMusic.
A published songwriter who has written for television, film, and sang for commercials, Missy also has an extensive tenure at EMI Publishing. Her indie rock band Breech has toured extensively in the US as well as her band Nellie Bly. Missy also continues to perform with her traditional Irish band, Paddy’s Pig, for the past 27 years. Her body of work is enjoyed for its soulful depth, evocative storytelling, and enduring appeal.
Onstage, Missy is known for more than her voice — she conjures up moods and atmosphere. With an instinct for reading the room and connecting to her audience, she transforms every performance into a haunting, intimate experience. Her rich, velvety voice and magnetic presence draw listeners in, creating moments people remember long after the music ends.
Jack De Baun (Drummer)
(Smilin') Jack has been drumming in Los Angeles since 1979, when punk was raw, clubs were sticky, and nobody wore earplugs on purpose. Rooted in early punk but musically restless, he has spent the last four decades bouncing through blues, rockabilly, country, Americana, swing, and Irish music. He has played with Channel 3 (CH3), Paddy’s Pig, Aileen Quinn (From "Annie" movie fame), and the Leaping Lizards, Danny Dean and The Homewreckers, The Mighty Mojo Prophets, Alehouse Fire, 77RPM, Rhythm Train, and more bands than he can list without going to storage and checking old flyers. He has hit stages from the Whisky a Go Go and The Roxy Theatre to CBGB, recorded at Gold Star Studios, and brings the perspective of someone who has loaded gear into a van at 3 a.m. more times than any reasonable person should.
Lindsay Gilis (Guitar)
With decades in the Los Angeles music scene, longtime live and session guitarist, Lindsay Gillis, has shared the stage with legendary artists including Garth Hudson, Bill Champlin, Burleigh Drummond, Bunk Gardner, and Kelly Shanahan of Boz Scaggs’ band. Known for his versatile style, soulful playing, and deep roots in rock, jazz, blues, and R&B, Gillis brings laid-back rhythm, deep experience, and a love of live music to every performance
Jon O’Hara (Bass)
Our unsolicited praise reflects our deep dedication to professionalism, packed dance floors, and toe-tapping good times!
What People Are Saying
“It’s 2026, but for one mesmerizing evening aboard the Queen Mary, The Imogenes transported us through the standards of the American songbook. With locked-in rhythm, haunting vocals, and a seamless mastery of the classics, this unit provided the perfect atmospheric vibe in the top-shelf martini of yesteryear.”
— Maura Gallagher, Queen Mary Event AttendeeYour [Missy Gibson’s] voice is pure velvet—how your hand feels when you run it over velvet. But much more than that, you use it like an instrument. You lay that breathy quality like Microfiber, Velcro, even snatching crumbs of inattention from your audience, luring in the souls of them all, one by one.
— Charles Idehlson, an Imogenes Fan“When we surprised my mother for her 80th birthday, the Imogenes created an atmosphere of pure celebration. Instead of the traditional birthday song, they launched into an original version that energized the room and set a celebratory tone for the entire day. The greatest gift was seeing my mother — who can barely walk — dancing and laughing. Those memories are something our family will treasure forever. The band didn’t just provide music; they turned an 80th birthday party into a celebration of life!”
